Happy New Year!

Happy 2010! We hope you had a wonderful celebration! We stayed with my parents on New Year's Eve and my Grandma Margaret even came. It was quite a milestone for her--she drove from the Valley by herself and it was her first overnight trip since grandpa Bob passed away. We were so happy that she was able to come, and of course, we played Scrabble! I think there was a Bridge game as well, but I can't be sure (I DO NOT do bridge). The kids were so silly, jumping on an old mattress that my mom threw on the floor, and banging pots and pans at midnight (it was actually only 9:30, but they really needed to sleep, so we told them it was midnight). My dad made his world famous spaghetti sauce and my mom is the mistress of cinnamon rolls. She made them the night before and it was severe self-control not to dig in a day early. Karen's birthday is January 5th, so we celebrated it while were all together.

This is Meg at almost 11, she actually made it longer than Emeri did. The more tired she became, the hungrier she became as well! Brian took her to bed just after this and fell asleep with her. Every party has a pooper!

Here's Meg the next day on the drive home (about 30 seconds after leaving my parent's house).

And on her way home on January 2nd, grandma stopped at our house! It was really special to have her here. She made a big deal over the pasta I made for lunch which made me feel so great. Here she is with Meg, named for her, and Carson who she also loves dearly :
