That's right folks, I left my husband and child for FOUR DAYS to travel to Palm Springs! It was an amazing opportunity to photograph my first wedding. I am still baffled that they asked me to do it, and honored as well. Kelly & CJ are great friends of Kristin, Rob & Emeri. When they asked me I have to admit it was with excitement and terror that I said yes, not wanting to screw up their special day, yet not willing to pass up a once in a lifetime opportunity to experiment with my skills as a photographer. So, I can't say my photos are worthy of InStyle Weddings magazine, but I am actually very happy and proud of my work. Of course I can spot a million things I could have done differently (I also don't own the proper equipment) but in all, I am pleased. My favorite photos of the day are the desert shots, two of which I am going to post below. Everyone piled in cars and caravanned about 1000 yards down the block to get these shots. It is very nearly my vision, I'd love to do it again just for perfection. . . but then again, the imperfections are what makes it special. Here they are:

Here is one quick snap of little Emeri. She was a terrific flower girl:

Soooo, once the wedding was over, I had some quality time with my family, especially Emeri :). She's just so much fun and she just wants to DANCE! We played Yellow Submarine about 50 times on my last night and Emeri stayed up late dancing with all of us.
This is Kristin. 11.

The Saturday Night Dance Party. Emeri loves to dance with Uncle John, who started the whole Yellow Submarine Craze:

Here I am at the park with my little sis, Karen and her "baby," Charlie, watching Emeri play. It was hot on November 2nd--high 80's!
