Last week was "Spring Break" so Meg and Traci drove to PA to visit Liz and Kent and their amazing garden. We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed a number of fun nature walks and play time at the playground, which is right behind their house except that you have to cross a charming National Geographic-worthy covered bridge over the creek. Liz and Kent made us so much yummy food and treated us like queens (and princesses) and we loved catching up with Amy & Justin, too (congrats to Amy for being accepted to Grad school!). Meg's highlights: Liz, the brand new baby horse, the ducks, the sand box and at top of her list: ice cream at the Creamery on campus at Penn State (they make their own from their own cows and this is where ole Ben & Jerry met and learned how to do what they do). Meg consumed a huge amount of "blue" ice cream in uncharacteristic silence! I enjoyed the garden where I learned so much and came home with lots of information from Kent (he's a master gardener--he's writing a book!). I also received a few choice cuttings that I have planted in my own garden. I'm most excited to have the lenten roses and blood root growing in my garden. Meg did great on the 4 hour drive. She slept alot and had fun singing (we now have the Polar Bear Song on continuous replay) and watching the Elmo Potty video. Thank you Liz and Kent for a wonderful time away--Meg is still talking about you both!
