Giles Family Blog: Long Time, No Blog

Sigh, What can I say. . . it's summer-time! We've been having fun, no time for blogging. So, now I'm over a month behind and can't conceive of catching up tonight, so I'll abbreviate, and throw up a few highlights in the form of photos of course. Here it goes. Since Niagra Falls:
My mom and dad stayed with us through July 10th. Together we visited the city for a few days, the Bronx Zoo, the Farm, Coney Island and Stew Leonard's (dad's highlight--he's still talking about it). As soon as they pulled out of the driveway to drive home, we started packing and headed to CA. We flew in on Friday July 13th, and drove straight to Disneyland, where we met up with the whole Giles family! Meg was a bit shocked by the intense heat and the general splendor; she isn't smiling in many pics that day, but she loved every minute of the Happiest Place on Earth. Favorites: Small World Ride and the Carousel. The next day was the big Giles family reunion in Laguna Beach in honor of Alta & Keith's 50th anniversary (Brian's aunt & uncle). That night we drove to Hesperia where Meg and I stayed for the next 10 days and Brian flew home to go to work on Monday. Meg and I did a ton of visiting and spent time with both the Scribners and the Giles. Meg and Emeri got some quality time together as well. It was sooo great to see all the old Flipside folks in Rancho! I still am in shock about that building and wish I could have spent more time with everyone! However, someone over there is responsible for what happened next: Meg got sick! She had a really high fever the night before we were set to fly home so I cancelled and postponed our flight (if anyone is keeping track--YES, IT DOES sound like an exact repeat of our Christmas trip). Soooo, we just got home last Thursday, the 25th and have been trying to piece ourselves back together. Of course, Meg recovered from one illness only to slide easily into the next. Literally as we were getting off the airplane she coughed for the first time and I was shocked at the strange sound of that cough, which became really intense and yucky and ended up to probably be a mild form of croup, according to the doctor. Poor Meg. Poor mommy, I haven't slept a normal night in weeks! Well, she's starting to return to normal, so maybe we all can too. Okay, here are the pics, in no particular order. Here is Emil (second from left) with brothers and sister. I'll have to verify the names/order with Elyse so I can label it correctly--I'll update when I get it right (Elyse. . . help me!)

Here is Meg at my grandparent's house (her great-grandparents Margaret and Bob). Their garden was AMAZING this year! I'll update soon with more photos from their place!
