Good Times

Here's what Meg has been up to lately: lots of good old kid fun! Last week Meg and I went to visit Sienna and Holly at their home in New Jersey (Jersey girls!) Meg and Sienna had a lovely lunch & nap. Then they went for a little swim, read some books together (super cute), played with toys and played the piano. Here they are going for a sweet ride on the hammock. Please note the matching hair bows! Meg's was a gift from Sienna :)

This weekend was pretty quiet but kept us busy just the same. On Saturday I let Brian and Meg tag along while I did a photo shoot at the John Jay place. They had a blast exploring the gardens and pathways and acres of rolling hills. Here is Meg lazing on my photo prop pillow, she was really interested in Jack, the little boy in the pictures! Later we all got to pet some horses who trotted through with their riders, they were sooo pretty.

So, we finally bought Meg a proper baby doll. She really couldn't care less about dolls, only balls (that isn't meant to be dirty, please assume the literal translation of the previous sentence), but last week she really pursued another little girl's doll at the library and almost caused a scene. So we skipped up to the toy store to buy our girl a doll just in case she wants one and doesn't know it. She was really excited about it when we presented it to her in the car, taking the baby's hat off and on and inspecting the doll from crown to toe, pointing out body parts. Then she gave it a few hugs and kisses (at my prompting) and drifted off to sleep. I snapped this quick pic, my heart exploding with love for my affectionate, nurturing angel, making plans for all the sweet doll clothes with matching handbags we were going to sew for our doll and planning our first trip to American Girl. . . About 30 seconds after I took this shot the doll plunked to the floor and Meg pretty much hasn't been interested in her since, despite my suggestions to bring baby with us to the store ("no") or put baby to bed in her room (again, "no"). Well, you can't say we didn't try. I'm still holding out for that trip to the American Girl store.

So sweet! I guess I'll never get to go to the American Girl shop either - sniff, sniff. Oh well that will save me hundreds of dollars right?

Apparently, these dolls and accessories are addictive to little girls, so I guess we're saving $$ !!
