Weekend Report

This was a great weekend--the weather was a perfect, balmy 73-ish, the sun was shining and we spent lots of time together. Gardening was first on the agenda; we have to tear out a big section of stickery bushes to make room for my veggie garden (cross your fingers). We realized that we live in "Briar"cliff Manor and that it was probably named that because of all the "briar" bushes, like the briar patch in the Peter Rabbit story. Suddenly the name isn't so romantic anymore especially since our yard is overgrown with these things and they can really stick ya. Jon came up from the city for some golf, green and BBQ but our propane tank was empty so Brian and Jon made steaks in the kitchen and stunk up the house (for a good cause). Next day we hung around for a lazy morning, made pancakes, took a walk to the park then took Jon to the good ole farm (are you noticing a pattern?) which I think he enjoyed unless he was just being nice. We lunched at the cafe which was delish (they grow and serve all their own offerings, all organic and fresh fresh fresh). I think that sums up the weekend. Sigh. Back to the grind.

Meg lends a hand breaking up the briar patch.

Uncle Jon, Meg & the horse.

Meg checking out the new baby lambs, born last night! Her attempts at communication failed, but they were surely cute: ba ba! By the way, when asked what color these shoes are she asserts that they are blue and we can't convince her otherwise.
