Merry Christmas and Happy Ear Infection!

Happy 2007! Yay, yippee and all that celebratory stuff. We enjoyed 10 whole days of California style Christmas fun, visting family and spending time together! However, Brian was forced to return home alone while Traci and Meg stayed back in CA to nurse Meg's ears back to health. She is taking antibiotics and other good stuff to help her feel good and we expect a full recovery by the time our NEXT flight is scheduled to take us home on Sunday. This is the longest I (Traci) have been in CA since moving to Colorado almost 5 years ago. . . um, you guys call this cold? My parents have a fire in the fireplace all day every day but the outdoor temperature has lingered around the 65-70 degree mark every day but one. I have been watching the thermostat in the hallway--81 degrees most nights when I go to bed! I have to give props to dad though, keeping the place cozy for his "lovie," Meg, as she recovers from the ear infection.

Speaking of Meg, here's the cutie update: Meg says "Hi" to anyone and everyone. It's pretty much her only auditory word that people besides mom and dad can understand, so it's really funny when she says it loud and clear and with various emphasis (a sigh, a laugh, super loud, whisper, etc). She says hi to familiar people and strangers (shouted it across the aisles to a woman today at Hesperia Kmart), dogs, cats, people animals or cartoons on TV, and the curious George doll my mom has on the shelf in the guestroom. She loves Carson (our dog who is staying with my parents for now) and feeds him from her high chair. Tonight she was reviewing her body parts (eyes, nose, mouth, etc) and decided to grab Carson's tongue when I asked where hers was. He is so gentle and sweet with her and although confused, he patiently waited for her to let go! Meg received the famous Elmo TMX doll for Christmas from Grandma/pa Giles and loves to see him roll around. She also loves to take him for walks in the doll stroller. She isn't walking by herself yet, but pushes the stoller all over the house.

The pictures are from our Christmas week and are coming from my mom's camera and computer since I still haven't been home to load mine. Just a few favorite moments!

So, greetings from California! I'll post some new pics when I get home next week, as long as the Dr. says Meg's ears can board a plane!
